Prices and Booking Information
Casa da Laranjeira sleeps up to four people and is available for rent on a weekly basis.
Self Catering Price is 350 euros for the house per week. This includes all electricity and gas, linen and towels.
A breakages deposit of 100 euros is required on booking and will be returned on check out.
Balance of charges to be paid on check out. Payment by cheque or cash. We accept UK cheques for the deposit.
Sorry, we do not accept credit or debit cards at this time.
The property is accessed by a flight of steps and has a spiral staircase so is unsuitable for disabled or infirm visitors.
No smoking in the house please. There is a large terrace for smokers!
A car is essential at the house due to its' location in the hills! We recommend that you book a hire car in advance in the UK, and collect it from the airport or Coimbra, as it will be much cheaper than in Portugal. Visitors tip! We have noticed that hire companies sell you insurance in the UK when you book. During collection of the vehicle the local company try to sell you their own insurance. Check the situation when you book in the U.K. as many visitors are paying for their insurance twice!

Travel Arrangements
We are located just outside the market town of Lousã, which is 26km from the city of Coimbra.
If you are coming to the house by train we can meet you at the airport or Coimbra B railway station for a supplement of 50 euros.
If you are coming by car we can meet you in Coimbra and take you to the house (about 40 min drive).
Airports
Nearest airports are Lisbon (Lisboa) and Porto. If you are traveling from the airport by car we recommend Porto as it is slightly nearer. If you are traveling by train we suggest Lisbon as it is only a 5 minute taxi ride to the Orient railway station, whereas Porto airport is 25-30 minutes.
By Road
Get on the A1 toll motorway and follow the signs for Lisbon (if you are coming from Porto) or follow the signs for Porto (if you are coming from Lisbon). Get off the motorway at the sign for Coimbra. Although there is a sign for Lousã from the motorway don't take it as you will get lost! From Coimbra take the N17 to Lousã which will take around 40 minutes.
By Train
From Lisbon take an Alfa Pendular express from 'Oriente' station to 'Coimbra B'. From Porto take an Alfa Pendular express from 'Campanha' station to Coimbra B. We will be happy to collect you from Coimbra.
Although there is a train service from Lousã to Coimbra we strongly recommend that you arrange car hire for your stay. There is much to explore in the area and the best way to see it is by car. You can collect a hire car from the airport and drive to us (around 2 hours) or if you prefer you can travel to Coimbra by train and collect the car there.
Travel Insurance
Don't forget your travel insurance! This can be obtained from the Post Office, Boots the Chemist or any travel agent.
